PCB names Fatima Sana's replacement in women's Asia Cup 2022 squad

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named Fatima Sana's replacement for the Women's Asia Cup 2022. The bowler was excluded from the squad due to an injury she suffered during the Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL 2022).

She was contracted by Barbados Royals for the newly-launched 6IXTY and maiden WCPL. In five 6IXTY matches, the girl bagged two scalps, whereas managed three in two WCPL matches.

The first edition of the Women's Caribbean tournament took place in the first week of September when Fatima sustained an ankle twist. The severity of the injury has ruled her out of Asia Cup 2022, set to be played in Bangladesh between 1st and 16th October.

The PCB named a 15-player squad on 7th September but is now left with no option except to induce reserved player Nashra Sundhu into the main squad in place of Fatima. Pakistan Women's squad for Asia Cup 2022 without Fatima looks like this:

Pakistan squad for Women’s Asia Cup 2022: Bismah Maroof (capt), Aiman Anwar, Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Naseem, Diana Baig, Kainat Imtiaz, Muneeba Ali (wk), Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz (wk), Tuba Hasan,  Nashra Sandhu

Reserve players: Natalia Pervaiz, Umme Hani, Waheeda Akhtar
