PCB chief selector gives shut up call to critics

All the criticism has been falling in the lap of Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) chief selector Mohammad Wasim for not addressing the team's middle-order issues while finalizing the squads for England series, tri-series, and T20 World Cup 2022. However, taking note of critics, Wasim has responded with every clarification he had to justify the squad.

He says instead of looking at how the same team managed to reach the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 semi-final and Asia Cup 2022 Final, the critics are eying at a few bad performances. The PCB selector is optimistic that the same team will do wonders in the upcoming World Cup in Australia.

During the recently winded-up Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan's middle-order, especially Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, and Iftikhar Ahmed were seen striving to carry on their duties. However, the trio has been selected to tackle the world-class teams in the T20 World Cup.

While talking to the media, the chief selector mentioned that Pakistan's Asia Cup 2022 squad managed to defeat a Billion Dollar team like India. His statements read,

“India is a billion-dollar team. But we showed last year as well as this year in the Asia Cup that this team is capable of winning and I have complete faith that they will continue to give the fans happiness in the World Cup,

"I think you need to look at the positives too that we have played the semifinals of the last T20 World Cup and the final of the Asia Cup. So to completely discard the team on the basis of a couple of bad performances wouldn't be fair,"
