Lahore Qalandars fail to inspire despite the massive target

The seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7) is going on in full fledge. Lahore Qalandars met Multan Sultans in their opening encounter and Sultans made sure to clutch the second consecutive win after thrashing Karachi Kings away.

Qalandars, however, posted a massive score of 206 on the board inspiring the lookouts with their blockbuster batting, but they later failed to defend showcasing poor bowling.

Fakhar Zaman gave his hundred percent scoring 76 in just 35 balls. His knock, which is appreciated across the internet at the moment, went in vain. Kamran Ghulam contributed with 43 runs coming from 31 balls.

Yet to win a PSL title Qalandars lose five men as Sultans Shahnawaz Dahani, Imran Tahir, David Willey, Ihsanullah, and Khushdil Shah plucked one wicket for each.

Sultans successfully chased 207 runs losing five wickets and spared 2 balls. Shan Masood and skipper Mohammad Rizwan played crucial roles to bring the triumph adding 83 of 50 balls and 69 off 42 runs respectively.

Qalandars, despite trying, could not make Rizwan and co fell short on the wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi's 3-wicket haul drove useless. Haris Rauf's and Rashid Khan's contributions with one wicket apiece could not generate anything for the losing side.

Shaheen and men will now face Karachi Kings on 30th January, Sunday, whereas, Sultans will encounter Quetta Gladiators on 31st January, Monday.
