All you need to know about PSL 8 Anthem

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has unveiled its official anthem for the 8th edition, which will feature young musician Abdullah Siddiqui as the composer, Asim Azhar and Shae Gill as the lead vocalists, and Faris Shafi adding a touch of rap to the song. This marks the second consecutive year that Siddiqui has composed the PSL anthem, having previously collaborated with Atif Aslam and Aima Baig on the PSL 7 anthem, "Agay Dekh".

Initially, Ali Sethi, son of current Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi, was set to perform this year's PSL anthem. However, to avoid any conflict of interest, Najam revoked the contract involving his son. In a recent press conference, Najam expressed disappointment but emphasized the need to maintain impartiality in his position. "I don't want to be involved in any controversy over conflict of interest," he stated.

PSL 8 will take place from February 13th to March 19th in Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Multan will host the opening ceremony and match for the first time, while Karachi will host its first match on February 14th. The first phase of the league, until February 26th, will be held in Karachi and Multan. Lahore will then host its first match, followed by the league moving to Lahore and Rawalpindi, with the latter set to host the majority of matches, including the final on March 19th at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium.
