Sarfaraz Ahmed, Captain of the Quetta Gladiators, Pays Tribute to His Team

In a recent exhibition match against the Peshawar Zalmi, the Quetta Gladiators emerged victorious, and their skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed, had high praise for his team. Speaking to GeoSuper, Sarfaraz acknowledged the crucial role his players played in securing the win, stating, "I do nothing special. My players take their responsibility and give me confidence. We are like a united group."

The Captain also expressed gratitude towards the enthusiastic local supporters who turned out in great numbers to cheer on both teams. "I would like to thank Quetta people for their support. The way they came out to cheer for both teams was fantastic. We truly enjoyed playing here," he said.

Despite a slow start in previous seasons of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Sarfaraz believes his team is determined to make a strong comeback in the upcoming edition of the tournament, starting on February 13.

Naseem Shah Steals the Show in Close Exhibition Victory

Chasing a target of 185, the Zalmi got off to a blazing start, with Mohammad Haris taking the Quetta bowlers to task. He and Babar Azam amassed 60 runs in just five overs, propelling their team to 109 for 1 by the end of the 10th over.

However, the Gladiators' relentless bowling attack, led by left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz, and the death overs skills of Naseem Shah, proved to be the game-changer. Shahid Afridi was stumped, attempting to take on Nawaz with a big shot over the head. Iftikhar Ahmed then stepped in, removing the dangerous Haris for 53. With regular wicket losses, Zalmi were unable to maintain their momentum and the Gladiators secured a close win.
