BCCI New President has something to say on PCB vs BCCI combat

The newly elected President of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), Roger Binny, has opined on the ongoing war between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).

Relating to the context, the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Mr Jay Shah, who is also the secretary of BCCI, denied the team's visit to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. He has called up to choose a neutral venue.

Notably, Shah's decision was unilateral since it was announced without discussing it with other ACC members, other Asian boards, and even with the hosts. The PCB is in no mood to accept and surrender and has taken the matter to ACC.

While everyone makes statements in regard, Roger, who has recently replaced Sourav Ganguly as BCCI President, believes these things are not in the board's hands. He says the men in blue need clearance from the government to pay a visit to Pakistan.

As quoted by ANI, Binny said,

“That isn’t our call. We can’t say where our team has to go. We need to take clearance from the government if we leave the country or other countries come here. We can’t take that decision on our own. We’ve to rely on the government."
