Mohammad Rizwan surpasses Suryakumar Yadav in a T20I record

Seems like the T20I record book will soon be led by Pakistan's wicketkeeping batter Mohammad Rizwan. He has been on the verge of achieving and surpassing various records. Recently, Pakistani batting delight has surpassed India's Suryakumar Yadav to become the highest run-maker of the calendar year.

With a 29-ball 34 in the final of the New Zealand tri-series 2022, the right-handed batter has amassed 821 runs in 2022 in his 18th T20I inning. Whereas Yadav is now one spot below Rizwan, having 801 T20I runs in 23 innings of the shortest format.

The two batters are competing on the ICC rankings for batters in the format, as Yadav is just one slot behind Rizwan, with a small gap of 15 ratings. Pakistani batter enjoys the title of the World's number 1 T20I batter, whereas Yadav sits in second place.

The two batters will now see each other in their team's opener of the T20 World Cup 2022, scheduled against each other on October 24th at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
