When National Stadium Karachi last hosted New Zealand for a Test match?

National Stadium Karachi is all set to host New Zealand for its first-ever Test match after a tenure of over three decades. It came across such an opportunity in October 1990 and has not yet embraced any international red-ball match featuring the Black Caps.

Since Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has on-screened the schedule for the New Zealand tour of Pakistan twice, it has been decided that the first Test match of the first tour will take place at iconic NSK this December. The two teams will play two Tests followed by a three-match ODI series.

Notably, the first Test is scheduled to take place between December 27 and 31, whereas the second Test will be played at Multan Cricket Stadium from January 4 and 8. Both matches are part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023.

The last time when NZ vs Pak Test series happened at NSK in 1990, the home sides defeated the guests by 3-0. The two teams back then also played a three-match Limited Overs International (LOI) series which Pakistan won 3-0.

It must be noted that after completing the first tour, New Zealand will once again be in Pakistan for a limited-over series, including five T20Is and as many ODIs. Below is the complete schedule:
