Shoaib Malik named as a replacement of Sohaib Maqsood in Pakistan T20 World Cup Squad

As Sohaib Maqsood got a lower back injury in the National T20 Cup on Thursday in a match against the Northern’s. Sohaib Maqsood got through an MRI which concluded that he can’t make it to the ICC T20 World Cup squad. As the Right-Hand Batsman Sohaib Maqsood can’t make it to the squad the former captain Shoaib Malik’s name came out as a replacement for Sohaib Maqsood.

Shoaib Malik captained the Pakistan side in the first T20 World Cup back in 2007 and he was also a member of the Pakistani squad which won the T20 World Cup in 2009. This is the fourth change that is made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in two days. As three changes were made yesterday with the former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed replacing Azam Khan, Haider Ali replacing Mohammed Husnain and Fakhar Zaman who was named as the reserved player for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 has swapped his place for Khushdil Shah.
