Big blow to PJL 1 before its inception

The maiden edition of the Pakistan Junior League (PJL 1) is all set to be played at Lahore's Gadaffi Stadium between October 1st and 16th. However, before its inception, PCB's dream project is suffering a huge blow as multiple cricketers are pulling themselves out for various reasons.

Afghanistan's Ibrahim Masood, who was drafted by Hyderabad Hunters, has been replaced by Lahiru Dawatage. The Sri Lankan cricketer was drafted in the Premier category and has expelled himself for an unspecified reason.

England's spinner Rehan Ahmed has also considered his duties with England Lions and will not be rendering services in the league. He was picked in the Premier category of Bahawalpur Royals but has been replaced by South Africa's seamer Johan Mane, who plays for North West.

Also, Gwadar Sharks' skipper Mohammad Ismail has been replaced by left-handed Shamyl Hussain. Ismail will now act as a deputy to Hussain.

Notably, the squads of all six teams were finalized on 8th September in the PJL 1 draft. The teams are named as Rawalpindi Raiders, Gujranwala Giants, Mardan Warriors, Bahawalpur Royals, Hyderabad Hunters, and Gwadar Sharks.
