MS Dhoni hints at end of his playing days

MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will stay with Chennai in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from the fifteenth season but perhaps, not as a player.

While speaking at the time of toss versus CSK's Thursday's encounter against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Dhoni indicated that he will be in Yellow from IPL 2022 but no one knows if he will be on the field to play.

You'll see me in yellow next season but whether I'll be playing for CSK you never know,

It is pertinent to mention that Dhoni is the only captain to lead a franchise from IPL's inaugural edition. The rest of the skippers have been coming and going but since 2008, CSK, under the veteran mentorship of Dhoni, have also won three titles being the second most successful team of the contest.

Currently, CSK are in second place on IPL 2021 points table winning 9 out of 14 games. They became the second after Delhi Capitals (DC) to qualify for the playoffs.

The playoffs, composing of Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2, are to be played on 10th, 11th, and 13th October respectively. On the other hand, the Final is to be played on 15th October.
