The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 will kick start with a group stage match between Namibia and Sri Lanka on October 16th at Geelong Cricket Ground. The Group stage composes of Group A and Group B, with four teams placed in each.
In the first round, all the teams of the same group will face each other once; for example, the teams of Group A will face each other once but not the Group B teams. Ones in each group ending their Group Stage stint as the top two will proceed to the Super 12 round. Group A includes the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, UAE, and Namibia, whereas Group B includes West Indies, Scotland, Ireland, and Zimbabwe.
Notably, the Super 12 round has already qualified eight teams, equally divided among Group 1 and Group 2. The groups of Super 12 will be finalized with six teams in each after the four from the Group stage will book their slots ending as the top two of their respective Groups.
