NZC confirms Pakistan tour in December this year

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has confirmed the Pakistan tour in December 2022, which will last till January 2023 and nothing can make fans happier than seeing cricket getting back to the fullest in their country. Last year, the Black Caps called off their ongoing tour of Pakistan a moment before the first match was to be started. NZC cited security reasons, getting threats from an inauthentic source, and got themselves under backlash from the Pakistani fans.

Consequently, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) also sidelined their tour of Pakistan citing players' mental well-being and COVID reasons. The incident took place before the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and nothing could affect Pakistan Cricket more badly, breaking millions of hearts awaited to see the return of international cricket in their realm.

New Zealand Cricket Team, on winding up their series with India on 30th November, will head to Pakistan for two-match Test series, and three ODIs. Later, in April 2023, the Black Caps will get back to Pakistan to play three compensation ODIs which were cancelled before the World Cup 2021 as mentioned above.

The NZC has also revealed the schedule for the tri-series including Pakistan and Bangladesh, which will commence on 8th October. The first match will be played between the hosts New Zealand and Bangladesh whereas, Pakistan will face Kane Williamson and co on 9th October. The entire series will be played at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.

After winding up the tri-series, all the participants will fly to Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022. After the marquee event, Pakistan will play two Tests against England to complete England's tour of Pakistan 2022, the seven-match t20I series of which has been scheduled before the tri-series. Also, they will host NZ for the Test and ODI series as mentioned before.
