Danish Kaneria calls Rishabh Pant 'overweight'

Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has been nowhere in the national team following his suspension from the game after the spot-fixing scandal while playing for Essex Club. However, he keeps on sharing his opinions on his YouTube channel on various players and circumstances in the fraternity.

In one of the recent videos, Danish has opined about Indian wicket-keeping batter, Rishabh Pant, saying the player needs to lose weight. Kaneria has termed him 'overweight and bulky' and thinks that for the reasons, his batting is suffering.

His statement reads,

“Maybe because he is slightly overweight and bulky, he can’t come up that quickly, and he doesn’t have that much time. He just stays bent back and low, he doesn’t sit down properly,”

It must be noted that Rishabh is leading his team in the five-match T20I series. However, his form has visibly been suffering. In the four matches so far, Pant has amassed 57 runs at an average of 14.25.

His comment on Pant's batting is that the Indian player should have to improve his batting. He believes Wriddhiman Saha should be played instead of Pant and advises BCCI to rest the wicketkeeping batter.

“Rishabh Pant will have to improve his batting style. There is KS Bharat available and I don’t see any wrong in bringing in Wriddhiman Saha. Just give a break to Rishabh Pant,”
