Pak vs WI: Pakistan likely to rest senior players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly decided to rest senior players for the upcoming home series versus West Indies. As per reports, the board is considering trying youngsters and newcomers for the three-match ODI series, set to kick start on June 8th.

Nicholas Pooran, who is the newly elected skipper of the team, will first lead the side versus the Netherlands in a three-match ODI series and then will travel to Pakistan for as many encounters.

In the recent developments, the PCB also disclosed Multan as an alternative venue for Pak vs WI ODI series. The series is scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi stadium, but the political conditions might force to migrate the game elsewhere, probably Multan.

The three ODIs will be played on the 8th, 10th, and 12th of June. It is pertinent to mention that these matches were part of last year's series between the countries but were postponed due to the COVID outbreak in West Indies' camp.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) named a 15-member squad on 10th May for the NED and PAK series whereas, the PCB is likely to announce the junior squad in the coming week.
