Ashes 2021-22: Josh Hazlewood's replacement for second test

Australia's pacer, Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the second test of the Ashes Test Series 2021-22 following his side strain. To nurse the injury, the player has flown back to home, Sydney, and is unlikely to participate in the rest of the series. 

According to reliable reports, Jhye Richardson, the quicker with all-rounding abilities, is set to replace Josh in the second test. Notably, the second test kick-starts at the Adelaide Oval from 16th December. 

Although Josh's one of the mates stated that he is fine but his injury came to the light when he under bowled during Day 3 of the Gabba Test.

After he will be analyzed and if it turns out to be a minor strain, the 30-year-old will get back to the team before the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. 

 It is pertinent to mention that Richardson, who is named as Hazlewood's replacement for the second test, will be playing his first-ever test since 2019. He played his debut test against Sri Lanka and ended up grabbing three wickets in two games. 

Also, David Warner is likely to be sidelined if his ribs injury does not heal before the Adelaide Test. Usman Khawaja, the left-handed batsman is probable to replace the terrific all-rounder.
