In March 2022 Australia set to tour Pakistan after 24 years after PSL that is scheduled in February 2022. This all format tour of Australia to Pakistan 2022 starts from March 3, 2022 to April 5, 2022. This tour comprises 3 Tests, 3 ODI’s and 1 T20I which will be played at three different stadiums in Pakistan i.e: National Stadium Karachi, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi and the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The 1st Test of the Australia Tour to Pakistan 2022 will be played on March 3, 2022 at the National Stadium Karachi. This test will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship. Both teams will travel to Rawalpindi for the 2nd Test match of the test series from Mar 12 to Mar 16. After the 2nd Test of Australia tour to Pakistan 2022 they will go to Lahore where the rest of the matches will be played.
After the Australia Cricket Board announced a tour to Pakistan in March 2022 the PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja said, "I am delighted to welcome Australia to Pakistan, from a personal point of view, it pleases me no end that we'll be engaged in a three-Test match series, connoisseurs delight”.
Australian Cricket Chairman Nick Hockley said in a press conference that, “ We will work over the next three months, we're going to be doing a preliminary survey over to Pakistan. Also we will be working with all the relevant agencies to do our due diligence to make sure security programmes are in place”.
Last tour of Australia To Pakistan back in 1998-99 is remembered for Mark’s Taylor’s Unbeaten 334 at the Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar. Australia won that series by 1-0, their first in Pakistan after 1959-60 when the Australian side was led by Richie Benaud and the Pakistan side was led by Fazal Mahmood.
